You can change the default English version of Handy patients.
The current version are English (default), English (Dr Mynhardt), Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Greek, Italian, Afrikaans, neonatology French and Dutch reflexotherapy

The automatic process:

• Use the automatic version file located in the Handy patients package
• Handy patients must be installed on your PDA or your PC.
• The previous language will be replaced by the new one. All your previous modifications done with the text shortcuts editor will be replaced. If you need to save them, copy the file "Labels.txt" in a safe place or rename it. Your templates must be saved.
• During the installation process, select the default location or the folder of the main software. Then click < Accept > on the following messages "Reinstall Handy patients" and "Replace the file < Labels.txt > with the new one".
• Finally start Handy patients to view the new language.

The manual process:

You can change the version of Handy patients manually. Only the default text of the software will be changed. Other files will not be updated (pictures, templates,...). You only have to replace the file "Labels.txt" by the new one.

This file is located in the default folder "/HandyPatients/" of your PDA.

1) Download one of these files with a right click below (use "Save Target As..." ) :

• English/American (default)
• Spanish (from Dr Ramiro Hernández)
• French (From Handylife)
• German (from Manuel Horn)
• Portuguese (from Ulrich Remhof)
• Greek (From Dr Michael Vasiliadis)
• Italian (from Paolo Tomasi)
• Dutch reflextherapy (from Mr Sander de Bot)
• English (from Dr Joseph Mynhardt)
• Afrikaans (from Dr Joseph Mynhardt)

2) Then rename the downloaded file with "Labels.txt". Ex : "German Labels.txt" ==> "Labels.txt"

3) Replace the file "Labels.txt" on your PDA or PC with the new one.

Who has done these versions:

The French translation is from Handylife.

The English/American translation is from Dr Robert J. Mahoney, M.D., from USA. He has won our competition on the English language of Handy patients. He improved all shortcuts lists and labels to meet better the needs of American or English doctors. This is a great and excellent work that is kindly given freely to all users of Handy patients. Dr Robert has won the first prize and gets the registration code of all our products. We thank him tremendously for this excellent work which is now implemented in Handy patients version 3.8 as the default language !

The Spanish version has been fully produced by Dr Ramiro Hernández from México. He has done this great job free of cost for all users of our software. It will help Spanish doctors to use Handy patients. We thank him again for this wonderful and intelligent work. The the new translation for Handy patients 3.5 has been improved and optimized for orthopaedics.

The German translation has been done by Manuel Horn. He is a German medical student who helps us improve the software for all German physicians free of charge. He added some expressions and abbreviations which are often used in german hospitals. We thank him a lot for his precious and great collaboration.

The Portuguese translation has been done by Ulrich Remhof. He is a German medical doctor working in Portugal. He accepts freely to translate the software for all Portuguese, Brazilians and other doctors. Special thanks for his great work and his help to improve Handy patients.

The Greek version has been done by Dr Michael Vasiliadis. He is a Greek doctor who has built this version free of charge for all doctors. Special thanks for his good suggestions and tests to improve the software and the creation of the 3.3 version.

The Italian version is the perfect translation of the English version. It has been done free of cost by Dr Paolo Tomasi from the university hospital of Sassari to help all Italian doctors manage their patients with Handy patients. Special thanks for his good suggestions to improve the software and the creation of the 3.3 version.

The Dutch reflextherapy version of Handy patients has been done by Mr Sander de Bot. This version is really nice for reflextherapy. All parameters of the patient hold great lists of text description. There are also some reflextherapy pictures, description of all nerves, muscles and meridians. This version has been done by Mr Sander de Bot for all his colleagues and other interested doctors. Feel free to download and discover this medical specialty through Handy patients.

The Afrikaans and the 2^nd English versions have been done by Dr Joseph Mynhardt from South Africa. The lists of shortcuts are highly detailed and will suit the most demanding doctors. So thank you Dr Mynhardt for this great work that will help South Afrikaans and English doctors.
