Technical Specifications

The Handy Patients Enterprise software has minimum requirements in order to be used to its full speed. In case you’d like to keep your existing computers, we will carry out the equipment assessment for you.

Minimum requirements

  • DesktopPC, Laptop, TabletPC, UMPC
  • Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows Seven
  • Computer with Intel (or equivalent) Processor Pentium III 1.0 GHz or greater
  • Minimum of 1 GB of RAM
  • 500 MB of hard drive space

Third party software

In addition to Handy Patients Enterprise, it is necessary to install the following tools on the server.

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Electronic Medical Records with mixed networkNetwork infrastructure

In order to be able to use Handy Patients Enterprise in your medical office, clinic or hospital, all computers must be linked together using a wired TCP/IP connection or a Wi-Fi connection.

Programming language

Handy patients uses Visual C++ for its development environment.

It's one of the most professional programming languages because it gives the fastest performance on computers. This language is widely used on all operating systems. Currently we develop only for PC. Depending on future clients' wishes, we will evaluate the need to release a Mac OS or Linux version.

Database

The database used by Handy Patients is Microsoft SQL Server.

It is one of the most widely used databases by companies. It ensures a professional level performance. It enables the management of an almost unlimited number of connected computers. The durability in the future is also ensured due to the importance in the market of the company (Microsoft) that produces the database.

Data compatibility

Handy Patients has a backup tool of its database in universal XML format. This makes the data in Handy Patients compatible with any other software. The evolution and compatibility of the data are, therefore, ensured for future.

Use the software using several compputersCommunication between several computers

The Handy Patients that works with Microsoft SQL server allows several, or even thousands, of computers to be connected simultaneously.

A tool allows mobile computers to disconnect from the network, make changes outside office and then automatically synchronize the modified information changed when re-connecting to the network. This is particularly useful for laptops and mobile computers such as UMPCs.

Remote access to database

The doctors always have access to patients’ data in a secure manner despite being at home or being away on vacation.

Anywhere there is access to Internet, even in an Internet café, they can easily access Handy Patients.

We assume responsibility for securing your network according to the most stringent security standards (identical to those used in the financial sector).

Protection of the Electronic Healt Records with a login screenUser access strategy

A tool enables to monitor all modifications made to Handy patients. It can record, for example, what modification has been made by whom and at what time on a patient folder.

The forms and the display can be adapted to suit to connected user. It can be different from one user to another. Access to some areas of the software can be restricted to pre-defined users. A user can log-in using a password to protect his/her working area.

You have a choice to put on the protection screen. This protection screen appears on the Handy Patients main screen and prevents others, other patients, for example, waiting in the consultation room from seeing the data on the software.

These tools are also available for medical offices. However, they will be indispensable for larger set ups such as clinics and hospitals.
